Andrea Palladio

Andrea Palladio (1508-1580) was an Italian architect working in the Republic of Venice. He was influenced by Roman and Greek architecture. He gained popularity in England when his work The Four Books of Architecture was released there in early 18th Century. He was an inspiration for architects and artist form Classicism, and he even has his own style called Palladian architecture.(the classicism architecture). His most important works: Villa Barbaro, Villa Capra "La Rotonda", Basilica Palladiana, Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, Il Redentore and Teatro Olimpico. Also the city of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
